الكتاب مشهور ومعروف بين الأصحاب ومن أهم المصادر المعتمد
عليها، اخذ منه الشيخ في التهذيب وغيره من المحدثين كالحر العاملي ونقل
عنه جل الف منهم في الحديث والزيارة وغيرهما. وهو جامع الزيارات
وما روي في ذلك من الفضل عن الأئمة (عليهم السلام) وفيه أجلاء المشايخ المشهورين
بالعلم والحديث الذين وثقهم وزكاهم - عموما - مؤلفه الجليل، وفيه فائدة
عظيمة في المباحث الفقهية والرجالية، وإن كان فيه بحث لا يسعه المقام.
المؤلف:
وقال النجاشي: (... من ثقات أصحابنا وأجلائهم في الحديث والفقه...
وعليه قرا شيخنا أبو عبد الله الفقه ومنه حمل وكل ما يوصف به الناس من
جميل وثقة وفقه فهو فوقه).
قال الطوسي (... يكنى أبا القاسم، ثقة له تصانيف كثيرة على عدد كتب
الفقه).
قال ابن طاووس نقلا عن الشيخ المفيد: وشيخنا الثقة الفقيه...).
ووصفه المفيد بالشيخ الصدوق على ما حكاه النجاشي في رجاله، كما
قال ابن طاووس: (ان الشيخ الصدوق المتفق على أمانته جعفر بن محمد بن
قولويه تغمده الله برحمته).
وبالجملة قد توارد عليه النص بالثقة في المصادر الرجالية وغيرها.
