Hyakume FREE - IP Video Client / Description

This is the FREE introductory version of the Hyakume app.

It supports a single Camera List capable of storing 10 Camera entries. Let us know if you find it useful.

Paid app description

Use the Hyakume "Hundred Eyes" app to view record and relay the H.264 & MJPEG video streams produced by a wide variety of IP cameras (security surveillance doorbell nanny/pet/nursery traffic weather etc). If a camera streams video over a network or the Internet Hyakume can probably capture it.

Hyakume supports one hundred (see what we did there?) camera entries in up to 10 Camera Lists 10 Cameras per List. Create separate Camera Lists for locations with IP Cameras you'd like to monitor: Home Office Shop Storage etc.

To add a Camera entry give it a unique name (Kitchen garage etc) and enter its IPv4 address stream path (ex. /video/h264) stream format and port (ex. 8080). Tap the "Test this Connection" button. Hyakume will poll the Camera and display a thumbnail image. Save the camera entry to permanently store it.

Camera entries are polled at a regular interval. If an entry is online tap it to view it.

Hyakume can record video segments and capture snapshot images of the Camera you're currently viewing saving them as MP4 video and PNG image files on the device's local storage. The saved media files can be viewed in the app and uploaded for sharing and archiving.

If you have any spare Android devices lying around gathering dust and you'd really like to access a location's IP cameras remotely Hyakume can be run as a dedicated Relay Server.

Relay Server Setup

• Install Hyakume and connect to the location's WiFi/Ethernet network.
• Add the local IP Cameras to the default Camera List.
• In Settings enable the Relay Server and assign it a listening port number.
• Start the Relay Server. If necessary port forward the Server's IPv4 address & listening port number.
• The Server will start listening for connection requests on the location's WAN (external) IPv4 address.

You can connect to the Relay Server remotely with Hyakume devices and access its local cameras.

If you'd also like to access the Relay Server's cameras with desktop/mobile web browsers you can enable the Relay Server's Web Client in Settings.

Remote connections through the Relay Server are FREE. All that's required is an Android device to run the Server and a decent Internet connection.

To protect your privacy the Relay Server employs TLS/SSL encryption to secure remote connections. As an additional measure it also requires authentication once the secure connection is established. Call us paranoid.
