Application castles.today is an element of a project Castles. The app serves as an encyclopaedia and your carry-on compendium of sound knowledge about castles. You will find here loads of monumental buildings from all the corners of the world and from every historical era – ancient forts medieval castles baroque palaces Slavic gords Mauretanian fortresses exotic strongholds from the Far East or the New World. Every single piece of architecture is described in a clear easy and attractive way – full of historical trivia interesting facts about their construction functions and historical events that these buildings were a part of.
Descriptions are supplemented by abundant photo galleries which at times show the interior of castles. Also you will find in our app all handy information about opening hours the possibility of visiting certain places or other attractions available on-site (e.g. festivals tournaments or fairs.) Every castle has a Localization tab which after being clicked on will move you to Google Maps. This option makes the app to be a practical and useful tool for planning your journey.
