Hafiz Ibn e Kaseer wrote a famous commentary on the Qur'an named Tafseer al-Qurʾān al-ʿAẓeem which linked certain Hadith or sayings of Muhammad (pbuh) and sayings of the sahaba (R) to verses of the Qur'an in explanation.
