Marriage card game can playable with 2 to 5 players Three standard 52-card packs are used as total 156 cards in all. There are no printed jokers but in each deal a number of wild cards are created and these are sometimes collectively known as "jokers".
As in any Rummy game the object is to collect sets of equal cards and runs of consecutive cards in suit. In Marriage all these combinations consist of three cards only.

- Minimum 2 runs are required for declare the marriage game.
- One of these sequences must be pure (called 1st Life) in our marriage.
- The winning hand is at least two sequences out of them one is a pure sequence without any jokers.
- The second sequence can be pure or impure (called 2nd Life) Either First Life or Second Life must have 4 or more cards in marriage card game.
