The Abdul Sattar Edhi Line formally named the Orange Line (Urdu:
راہ نارنجی) is a 4 km (2.5 mi) bus rapid transit line of the
Karachi Metrobus under-construction in Karachi Sindh Pakistan. The
expected daily ridership is estimated at 50000. Line goes from
Board office to Gulshan-e-Zia (Orangi Town).
History
Originally named the Orange Line construction began on June 11 2016 and is the smallest of the five line's spreading over 4 km with only four stations. The line will have the capacity to carry up to 50000 passengers daily with a station after every kilometer. The line begins from AO Chowk Station on the Green Line and extends to TMO Office in Orangi. On December 14 2016 the Government of Sindh renamed the Orange Line after the late philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi in recognition of his services to the poor.
