Drinks made by mixing various beverages or fruit juices in specific measures are called cocktails. It is known to originate in America. It was born from the English word "cocktail." According to research 11000 cocktails are registered with the International Bartenders Association and 7000 varieties are registered with the British Bartenders Chamber.

Usually no one knows how the word cocktail is used for a mixed drink and how it came to be. The word cocktail was first used to express a mixture of spirit sugar water and bitterness. It is known as a drink that takes one to the top of the clouds with a small sip.

Today the word cocktail is used to refer to any mixed drink containing alcohol. There are several stories about the creation of the cocktail. The stories that are famous among them are:

England: In the 18th century cock ale (cock beer) with alcohol was given to fighting roosters. Sometimes the winning roosters were offered a concoction to which the tail of the surviving rooster other parts and liquor was added. It is said that the mixed drink got its cocktail name from there.

France: France's superiority in wine production is known to this day. According to this proposal the word cocktail is derived from the traditional name 'Coquetel' a mixed wine glass in the Bordeaux region.

America: In the tavern run by a lady named Betsy Flannagan where French and Washington soldiers went mostly during the War of Independence Betsy Flannagan once served the drink she prepared in a glass decorated with chicken images as a meal to the soldiers. When one of the French customers tasted this drink he congratulated him by shouting 'Vie Le Cocktail.'

The cocktail first gained fame in America. In America it was drunk in cocktail bars until drunk and in sports competitions and picnics as a supportive mixture. During Prohibition in the 1920s in America everyone changed their drinking habits. Since the drinks they could find were not the same as before people started to create a good drink by mixing everything they saw. As a result "mixed drinks (cocktails)" were made.

Your priority should be to pick the main drink. Generally high spirits such as vodka tequila and rum are called leading drinks. Choosing an auxiliary drink to mix with the main drink should be your second step. You can soften the alcohol with flavored fruit juices or hot sauces instead of a helping drink.
